Touching again on religion - straight up rage about the damage done by religion and processing the pain…reveling in it, almost - perverse, but cathartic. The “blister at sunset” shouting at the end was half inspired by Jim Morrison at his most unhinged, “Celebration of The Lizard” era meanderings and the silly shouting, scaremongering & posturing that I remember from all the priests I remember as a kid. “Though I’m with you I am loveless”...I definitely never felt love from religion & no matter what I did, I was still at risk of the Devil's punishment. So fuck it. The damage sneaks up on you under a false pretense of beauty, a blister at sunset.

Also a very fun song to build - the big fuzzy bass line was created by me singing through a Korg MS20 pitched down to 32", and Dean did an especially wonderful job on the drums.
